Investigation: # 01302010 Twin City Opera House (Community Ghost Hunt & Movie Premiere)

Marty Myers (Case Manager & Asst. Lead Investigator)

Oddly although I did see allot of weird EMF readings where there previously haven’t been large fields like all over the left hand side of the catwalk and covering almost all the right hand side of the balcony I didn’t actually see or hear much paranormal activity myself. The exception to this is the EMF session of apparent intelligent conversation we had on the right hand side of the catwalk with the spirit who identified himself as Charles and claimed thru answering yes/no questions to be over 40 years old and to have died in a fire on the site of the opera house before the Twin City was built there. He also seemed to agree that a Brewster hotel stood there and that he was the only one who died in the fire.  He said that he did not want to pass on and that he wanted to be remembered. Or at least that’s whet his responses seemed to be to me.  At the end of the session I suddenly felt like a cold block of ice was behind me on my back and it got so cold feeling that my muscles were tightening up especially my right arm and this lasted for a couple minutes. One of the guests used a thermostat to test that the temperatures was actually dropping right behind me.  She said it went from in the 70s down thru the 60s and even down into the 50's while this was happening.   Also at one point on the catwalk my camcorder shut down by itself. Other than that I did see some early activity in the catwalk when we were setting up the doll and wine from the emf meters that seemed to indicate the spirits were trying to communicate with us.   There was also a strange cold spot on the top steps to the catwalk that Brendan and me passed thru when we were setting the cameras up.  He mentioned passing thru it and then I felt it as a strange cool spot and almost like a head rush and an energy or current passing thru me and a cool sensation like a drop in blood pressure or something.  My camcorder shut down and refused to record on the stage pointing into the audience during the movie. That’s all I can think of personally experiencing that night.

Brendan Shay (COGS Tech Manager)

I believe the first thing that happened was I thought I seen someone walking backstage during the movie I went down stairs (I was sitting in the balcony) to see who it was none was present Marty then informed me that Eric had just seen a shadow block out the red left on the side of the stage.  The EMF meters went off in every room of the opera house, in my group a person was tapped on the shoulder in the coat room, also I seen a face right in front of me shimmer and then disappear, in the basement I had something go right through me and it knocked me on my ass.  It felt as thought the life force was drained right out of me.  I heard a whispery Get out in the Catwalk, also the EMF metes where going crazy up there as well

Christa Azbell (COGS Investigator)

During the movie I kept seeing a solid white mass pass by me in the center aisle. At one point I felt like something bumped into me with no one there. We took group two down into the basement nothing really happened other then temp changes.
Before going up to the Catwalk after the break I was walking up to the stage area and Brendan came out and said he heard someone go running across the catwalk with no one there. So my group and I went upstairs I was on the stairs side. Dave took half the group onto the other side. It seemed to us that Robert was on the far side and Elizabeth was over with us. She played with the Ghost Meter and responded to the Teddy Bear. There was a noted 25-degree drop in temp beside me compared to the base line of 62 degrees. Also something else, maybe another spirit, ran Elizabeth away and then walked back and forth and made the Ghost Meters light up and go off as it passed. There was a moving breeze as if someone was walking passed. After that we took a break and then started heading upstairs to the balcony and then to the ballroom. I sat down for a second and watched the main ballroom while half the group went into the coatroom and some went up to the bell tower.Dave called all of us into the Coat Room because they were getting some very weird Ghost Meter activity. Jeremy one of our group members had one of the 5 different ghost meters within the room and he was getting answers to the yes and no questions that were asking. We found out there was like 5 different spirits, but there was one that was responding to us and it was a 6-year-old girl. We got no name. But she likes to play with dolls and she knows whom Elizabeth is and they are friends. Soon after entering the room the IR lights on the camera I was operating died suddenly and not but 5 mins later the camera itself which said 632 mins left on battery went completely dead and I tried turning it one multiple times and it died fully and wouldn't turn back on. So I grabbed my personal digital camera from Joey, my boyfriend, and shot the Ghost Meter lights and the conversation going on in the room. For the last session I went and sat on the far side of the catwalk. The whole time we were up there the ghosts meters wouldn't stop. We tried to get the spirit to step away but all 4 of the ghost meters were full force at 5. I was telling a story about one of our investigation when I saw out of the corner of my eye what looked like someone crossing the catwalk towards us and the footsteps the went along with it. I turned to greet the newcomer and no one was there just blackness...no one else in the group hear or saw it.Soon after we broke down and went downstairs and everyone left.

Jessica Work (COGS Investigator)

I was with the group that went to the Ballroom/Coatroom first on the tour.  As soon as we stepped into the coatroom our ghost meters started going off. As you know there is nothing in that room that could have cause this. We were also the first group to investigate up there. Again meters were going crazy in all corners of the room. They would stop sometimes on command but we had a really hard time communicating with whomever been there. Our next stop was the basement. The first thing that was noticed in the basement was the ghost meter was going off in front of the board door that is on the wall to the left of the entrance, over by where the pop machine is. The one thing that makes me believe that this was paranormal is the fact that one of the guests kept asking whoever it was to come out. Eventually he was getting a reading into the middle of the room. As people started to gather, it moved back by the door. After talking for a while longer he got it to move out again. He began to ask questions like "is this Everett" the ghost meter went off. Then he asked if he knew his family was there tonight. It blinked again. After a while it seemed to go back behind the door and could not communicate anymore. This is also where something went through Brendan. I was next to him as he was crouched down to the ground. After he said it went through him I could see in his face that he was very sick. After that, there were 4 or 5 people that started feeling sick so we had to leave the basement. We then went to the catwalk. Our meters were going off again as soon as we got there. We were not able to communicate with anyone up there. The ghost meters just kept pegged to the max. When one would stop flashing they all would at the same time. Then all at once they would start again. There were a few times we thought we could hear a voice. Hopefully we catch something on the recorders. At the end of the night I went back to the coatroom. A guest had said that he had been communicating with a six-year-old girl with a brother. While up there we asked her several questions. The only one that she would answer to was that one guest, no one else. She told him that she was happy, Everett watched over her, Elizabeth plays with her, and she knew she was dead, she didn't want to go home, and she didn't want to leave the Opera House. Overall everywhere I walked I was getting hits on the ghost meter: in the balcony, by the offices, on the stairs to the balcony, and on the stairs to the catwalk. Awesome night!

Meg Work (COGS Investigator) I don't know what was going on with the steps this night but, I know of 4 people that feel down the steps (including me).  2 on the same steps at different times left of the stage at the exit door. Steps’ coming up from the concession stand and mine was on the steps coming down from the projection room. COAT ROOM: There was something in the coatroom that seemed to attach itself to Jeremy.  It was answering questions (for him mainly) sometimes it would answer for other people, but most times if someone would ask a questions and it didn't respond, Jeremy would ask the same question and get a response.CATWALK: At one point toward the end of the evening, a group of us were on the side of the catwalk just at the top of the stairs.  Our meters had been going off and then they all just stopped.  One of the guys, I think from group 2 came up the steps and at the point that he reached the top, all of our meters started going off again.BASEMENT: I was standing with my back toward the main door in the basement and I kept hearing something to the left of me.  Marty did hear something also.  I took several pictures but nothing showed up on any of them. It seemed like the whole place was a huge electromagnetic field that night.  I never saw the ghost meters going off so much and in places that they don't normally go off.  Sometimes they were just going off without getting responses and other times we were getting responses.  It was just a crazy night.  Very Interesting.

Eric Glosser (COGS Director & Lead Investigator)

I spent my time with group #1, Marty, Ed and Meg. While watching the end of the movie I noticed a black shadow figure block out the red light at the left hand entrance stairs to the stage area. Once the investigation started we all noticed the catwalk was super charged with EMF, far more than ever before. There was an incident in the catwalk where Marty was asking questions on the right side area. My Ghost Meter began to respond to his questions. As the questions continued on, I began to feel nauseated, week and dizzy. I did everything I could not to fall down to the floor. The entity claims it’s name was Charlie and was burned up in the fire of the Brewster Hotel, which stood on this same lot prior to the Opera House being built. There were many other questions that were answered, however I cannot recall everything due to the things that were going on with me physically and mentally. The balcony and the coatroom also showed very high EMF readings, which has never happened at the Opera House for us before. The basement was relatively quiet while the group I was with was down there. There were 38 on the ghost hunt and I feel that this contributed to some of the strange occurrences along with the recently new carpet being laid and the movie being played on this same evening.

Dave Schickler (COGS Investigator)

Ghost Hunt:  The Twin City Opera House was insane.  We had people in the catwalk at either end.  Each group that went up there spent an hour communicating with "Red Wine" Robert on one side and 10 yr old Elizabeth on the other side. Robert answered our questions on queue by lighting up our ghost meters. At one point I asked Robert to stand next to Kathy. I moved my ghost meter from in front of me to a space between me and Kathy and it lit up. I had Kathy and another a female guest member trade places and the meter no longer lit up as Robert moved to be next to Kathy. In the large coatroom next to the ballroom we spread out all around the room and were communicating with the ghost of a 6-year-old girl. We obtained this information through questioning and her lighting up our ghost meters. At times everyone who was spread out across the room had all their meters go off at the exact same time. We also found out there was more then one ghost in the room. At one point in the ballroom we had the spirits walk around the room and one by one our meters would go on and then off as the spirits passed by everyone felt a cold breeze as if someone was blowing cold air in their face. The spirits moving around the room caused this.  Eventually the little girl spirit focused on answering only Jeremy (a guest) and we spent at least 30 minutes having Jeremy ask her questions and she lit up his ghost meter with answers. She indicated she missed her mommy; she wasn’t afraid and was happy. She also indicated she knew Elizabeth and played with her.  Later that evening when everyone was able to roam around, I went back up to the coatroom and Jeremy was once again communicating with the little girl using his ghost meter.  When Jeremy left, Kathy and I were also able to have the little girl answer some of our questions.

Laura Adkins (COGS Investigator)

During setup my daughter and I went to the catwalk so I could show her how to use the ghost meter.  The ghost meter pegged immediately and wouldn't stop.  I yelled for Marty to come up and he did with a camera, we were unable to debunk the activity. Later Brendan, Jess, and I took a group up to the ballroom and had very similar activity in the coatroom.  Every ghost meter and K2 would peg for several minutes and then just all of a sudden they all would quit.  This went on all night, both in the coatroom and the catwalk. The basement was active as far as EMFs too; one of our guests was having a great time getting hits on his meter in the basement.  After several minutes several of us felt sick to our stomachs and Brendan felt like he was 'walked through' he also had his hood pulled down.
